Paintings

Louis-Jean-Francois Lagrenee's 'Mars and Venus an Allegory of Peace'

Joshua Reynolds Portrait of Elizabeth Foster

William Bouguereau Young Girl Defending herself against Cupid

I terribly miss going to museums and gazing at the expressions and eyes of the subjects, the brush strokes, colors, texture, composition, everything!
The second painting is of particular interest. I just finished watching the film, The Duchess, with Keira Knightly. Elizabeth Foster was a very confusing character and that draws me to her, I must say, she is a lot beautiful than Duchess Georgiana. I feel guilty saying that because of what the Duchess had to endure in her life :( Very well done film , highly recommended.
The last painting is one of my favorites of all time. I have a print of it from the Getty Museum, but I'm afraid I have misplaced it, along with a Degas print.
